Lutheran Softball Tourney
The McHenry County Lutheran Mens Softball League has com¬ pleted it's league play for this year.
Trinity Huntiey has won first place in tbe league this year. They won 11 games and loat 3. This is the second year they have ww» first place. They also won laat year.
The tournament will be held in Huntley again this year on ihe school (fiainondn Sttti., Aug. 23 afhcf Aug. 30.
On Aug. 23 the first round will be I^yed. There will be 2 games play¬ ed atl:30 P.M. and 2 Games play¬ ed at 3:00 P.M.
The Semi-Finals will be played Sun., Aug. 30 at 1:30 P.M. and the Finals will be ^ayed at 3:00 P.M.

The Huntley Harvesters will hold their 4-H picnic on August 23 at Noon in Diecke Park.
The Huntley Harvesters will hold a special 4-H meeting August 24, at the Congressional Church at 8 pan. All record book^ must be turned in.
Bowling Notice
The Fanner's Mixed League of Huntley will hola a meeting Friday, August 21 at 8:30 p.m. at Bowl-Hi I anes in Huntley for those inter¬ ested in bowling this season.
Anyone wishing to bowl but who cannot attend this meeting, should call Gordon Jacobsen, president at 426-4938.
School Board Meeting
August 24th at 7:45 P.M. the Board of EDUCATIOW FOR DIW. 158 will meet for Hbe •eooad regular monthly   meeting.
The board will make a toqjr of the building to evaluate the atuMDer work in preparing for the eoaiing school year.
Other business is a review of the increment schedule for extra 4lttes and inservice plam.
BoonCounty Fair Results
Huntley   F.F..\.   entries   in   die poultry division won the school ex¬ hibit award. Huntley also won the third  place  school trofrfiy,   in   the dairy division. The first irface trophy for dairy went to North Boone with Central   in   5>econd   place.   Nearly twenty schools from Northern IIM- noia had entries at the Agricultures Occupations fair at Boone County. Entries were judged for places, 10 ribbons being awarded, eachi entry was   also   rated for  quality. BOON COUNTY FAIR
Firemen^s Day Joint Legion-Auxitiaty Installation
This Sunday
The anjiual Huntley Firemen's Day will be held on.Sunday, Aug.* 23, In the village squ»l« ^rk. The? feature of the day will %e water fights between IS and 20 partici¬ pating teams including one from the Chicago Fire Academy. These teams will be competing for tro¬ phies and other awards. The water fights will be held on Coral Street, just north of tho park. In addition to the participating fire teams, spe¬ cial attractions will be presented. These attractions will include a water fight between the NFO and the Huntley Lions Club, a Huntley firemen's wives and a volunteer womens' group and a water fight between the Huntley Firemen's sons and a volunteer boys group. Water at fire hydrant perssure will be used for all these special attrai^-' tions.
In addition to the water fights, recreational rides and a refresh¬ ment stand hav? been provided for this event.

Commander Jack Goehl then turned the meeting over to  Mrs.   Robert Schultz,   president of   the Huntley   American  Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Schultz called Quin O'Brien, editor of the Huntley Farmeside. newspaper, to the speaker's stand. ^ She then presented him with a Cer- j. tlfioate of Merit from the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Illinois.
The ceftifica.te was in recogni¬ tion of "outstaiiding cooperation given in furthering the programs" of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Illinois. The award was given to the American Legion Auxiliary for presentation at last Saturday n&ght's meeting to jthc Huntley Farmside newspaper. It is signed by the department publicity chairman and tiie department presi¬ dent.
An award was also presented to Miss Eva Buckley for the two-year date calendar. Then President Schultz gave a personal gift to her secretaries, Mta. Donald Enstrom and Mrs. Floyd Will. Mrs. SchultE was presented with a memory book for her year in office by Mrs. Ar¬ thur Blott and a past president pin by the unit.
Following Ihe presentation of awards the meeting was turned over to Mrs. Jerome Murphy, past nth Distria director, who t^idat- ed at the installation. The install¬ ing sergeant-at-erms was Mrs. Ralph Johnson, president of the Cain Country Auxiliary. Tbe install¬ ing chaplafai was Mrs. R. Schmid- ing, ami'tbe installing musician was Mrs. Leroy Marx.

School Starts Sept 1st
Tuesday, September 1st will be the first day of the new schotd year for all Huntley school students with the exception of kindergarten young¬ sters who will begin September 2nd. Registration for elementary students will be Friday, August 21, from 9:00 to 12:00 noon for laflt names A-M and 1 to 3 P.M. for last mune& N-Z. Parents should come to the fcigh sdMHii ofOce on this day to register and pay the $10.00 book rental fee. On Monday, August 4, high school students should rMister pay the $10.00 fee and pick np class schednles at the hi|«i school office.
