Regular School Board Meeting
The regular meeting of the Huntley Board of Education was held last Wednesday, July 9tli, m the board room of the high school. Upon roll call, Mr. Jirik, Dr. Grau. Mr. Bcin and Mr. Stading were present. Mrs. Thrun. Miss Macke¬ ben and Mr.  Bastian absent.
A motion was made by Mr. Bein, seconded by Dr. Grau to pay the regular monthly bills, pending a letter confirming the legality from the State Council on reinvesting school funds. Tho amount to be reinvested should be set up to just retain enough for current school expenditures. The motion carried four yea's, no nays.
A motion was made by Mr. Bein, seconded by Mr. Stading to ap¬ prove the school canendar as pre¬ sented and dated July Sth. Tho mo¬ tion carried four yea's, no nays.
A motion was made by Mr. Jirik, seconded by Dr. Grau to accept tho resignation of Ruth Severson and Mary Hungeling, effective as of now. The motion carried four yea's, no nays.
A motion was made by Dr. Grau, .seconded by Mr. Bein, to approve of the application for David Born to attend a junior college under the Junior College Act. The motion carried four yea's, no nays.
A motion was made by Mr. JiHk. seconded by Mr. Bein to approve of the fire alarm transmitter and a 2-step independent signal trans¬ mitter for the sum of $516. The mo¬ tion  carried  four  year's,   no nays.
A motion was mado by Mr. Bein, seconded by Dr. Grau to approve the increase in the salary of Mr. Banks for the school year 1969-70 by the  sum of $700.     The  motion

The McHenry County Council of the .American Legion will meet in the Hebron American Ijegion on Thursday,  July   17, 8:30 p.m.
X-Ray Unit in
Huntley
The Mobile Chest X-ray Unit will visit Huntley on Friday, July 18, Operating from 12:30 — 5 and 6 — 8:30 P.M., it will be located at the Fire Hall.
The McHenry County Tuberculo¬ sis Association, sponsors of the x- ray program, urge all in the Hunt¬ ley area to take advantage of the opportunity to have a free x-ray. It has been serveral years since the xray unit was in Huntley.
The Hebron and Woodstock visits of the xray unit that were cancelled in June because of mechanical break-down, have been re-sched¬ uled for July 31, Hebron and August 1, Woodstock. The same operating hours will apply.
Anyone over 18 may have an x- ray. Children with positive skin tests may also obtain an xray.
Supervisors
Meeting
Mrs. Eleanor Coffman, Superin¬ tendent of Public aid in McHenry County has resigned. The Board of Supervisors expressed gratitude for hor years of service to the Com¬ munity.
Augu.it Ruth, Father of Howard Ruth, Graiton, attended the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, July 8. Mr. Ruth had been a mem¬ ber of the Board of Supervisors for 20 years. He now has retired to California. He remenised saying that Ik had been chairman of the Board ior one year. He also stated that in his day there would have been no controversy regarding the Metes and Bounds of a precinct, if a Supervisor brought in a split in Continued on Page Six HAPPENINGS

Worked commenced last week on an additional building at the A. E. Robinson Plastic Manufacturing Company in Huntley. The building is located in back of the present plant, which at one time wa.s the Huntley High School, It will be used primarly for stoi-age, however, the owner of the company, Mr. Robinson, stated that possibly some
machines will be moved into it. The building, when completed, will be 120' X 60' and 14" in height. It will be an all-steel Armco building.
Mr. Robinson expects the i-oof and sides to be on the building by the middle of next week, with plumbing and heating to be In¬ stalled in the near future.
In addition to the building,  the
company ie installing a second driveway, which will encircle the original building, making two en¬ trances to the plant

Car Brings Down Light Pole
On Friday, Ju^y Ilth at approximately 7:30 P.M., a car driven by Kenaldo M. Rivera, 36, of 7801 Rt. 120, Woodstock, Illinois, hit a Ugbt pole on Main Street, just each of Myrtie in HunUey.
According to police reports, Mr. Rivera was traveling west on Mafai Street, when he applied his brakes, causing his car to veer to the right, striking a light pole and breaking it and causing damage to ttae front end
of the  Rivera car. s
Mr. Rivera was licked for driving with a suspended license. Patrolman Carroll Robertshaw of the Huntley Police Departoient was the arresting officer. (Lyle  Kraua  Photo)
