Medical Center Robbed
Dr. E. S. Hernandez' office was robbed last Monday night of ap¬ proximately $120.00, according to Police C^ief Raymond Burton.
Upon leavaing the office Monday night Dr. Hernandez locked all three doors. At 9:30 a.m. on Tues¬ day morning when nurse Shirley Frank opened the door, she found the back door was open and the iron bar normally placaed across the door was down. The culprits gained admission to the building through a window in the rear storeroom, removing the storm window, breaking the glass anad pushing out the screen. CONTINUED ON PAGE TEN
Poppy day
Once again. Poppy Days are here. Perhaps it would be well to recall the reasons for the sales of this flower.
The Poppy was chosen as a symbol of the blood and tragedy of wars, since it grows on the battlefields of France anad Bel¬ gium. Originally it was sold for the benefit of the orphans of Belgium and France, and was par¬ ticipated in by other fraternal or¬ ganizations of this country. How- CONTINVED ON PAOE TEN
FFA. Winners
On May 14, 1963, the Huntley F.F.A. cha{>ter completed the planting of its minimum-tillage' comparison test. Mr. Robert! CThurch from Marengo, Illinois, planted the minimum-tillage acres, and Mr. Delwin Bohart planted the corn by the conventional meth¬ od. Peter Hardt helped us set up this test plot.
The landa which was planted by the conventional method was plowed, double disked three times, and dragged once three days be¬
fore planting; whereas, the wheel track planting land needed only to be plowed. The FFA chapter broadcast 400 lbs. of 28 per cent nitrogen and 275 lbs. of murate of potash, all plowed down. In planating of the corn we used a plant population of 18,000 stalks per acre and used 160 lbs of 18- 48-0 fertilizer per acre with the planter.

New Owner of Farley^s
FFA Tilling Demnostartion
A long-standing name will dis¬ appear frcon the scene cm Main Street this week with the selling of Farley's Grocery Store. Mr. Leo Dwyer, owner of the store, announced Tuesday that as of Wednesday, May 15, he has sold the grocery store to Mr. Donald D. Brugger of Woodstock.
Mr. Brugger has operated the C:ardinal Food Store in Woodjatock for the past four years. Until tbe we^-end Mr. Brugger plans to rr model the store and make it into a regular "chain-operaticm" with prices in accordance with Consol¬ idated Foods. He plans to feature fresh meats daily in his store. Tba store will be closed for the next three days while the layout is changed and vtdll be <^)en for busi¬ ness thie week-end. The store wiH have a new name, that of Ci^ftrdlnal Food Store.
Mr. Brugger stated that be thought Huntley had a lot of po¬ tential and would grow in the fu¬ ture.
