Electric Service Interruped
Electrical service was interrupt¬ ed in the Main Street business part of town from 5 to 6:15 P.M. last upSaturday, October 12. The inter¬ ruption was caused by a tree fall¬ ing across the line after it had been cut. The tree was located in back of Collins Drug Store across the alley and was cut down by Mr. Clint Birkeneder, a local tree cut¬ ter.
Mr. Birkeneder had secured the tree to his truck and had notched it lo fall a'wAy from the wires. However, unknown to liim, the tree was hollow and when i tfell s^t dowTi the center. % of it fell onto the electric wire^yjd the other toward a shed an^^atomo- bile in the oposite direction. A rear window of the car was broken by ^fiatfing limb.
The Public Service Co. has made temporary repairs thus :

Huntley firemen were called to false alarm early Wednesday morn¬ ing at  12;30 A.M.

Immodiately hicfor tho sirens, the light.s went out all over Huntley It Ls believed by some that this may ha\c set off the automatic alarms.
Huntley firemen made it to the station in only a few nanutes after the alarm went off.
Police Report
LeRoy Anderson's car was dam¬ aged last Saturday night when it was struck by one driven by a Mr. Bryant who lives in the McClin¬ tock apartments. Mr. Bryant was coming out of the aj^jment's drive¬ way, turned east onto Main Street; the windows on his car were foggy and he did not see the Anderson car parked in fix^nt of the resi¬ dence at 141 East Main Street.
The Bryant car struck the back end of the Anderson car damaging the bumper and rear part. The Bryant car had to be towed away with damage to the right front fender and grille.
Redskins* Lose To Central
The On tral footbcdl ssuad scor- oda 37-19 victory over the Huntley Redskins in the game of October 18 on the local field.
Touchdowns for Huntley were made by Larry Rasmussen, Allen Heimsoth and Dennis Enstrom. Allen Heimsoth made 11 tackles, Dennis Ackerljerg and Bill Bor¬ hart each had 6. Huntley iiad 8 first downs, Ontral 15. Alen Heim¬ soth paced the offensive with 108 yards in rushing. Brent Weber threw 19 passes and completed 10 for good yardage.
The team goes to Earlville on Friday niglht of this week. Tliis will be Homecoming for Earlville and game time will begin one — half hour earler then originally scheduled, starting at 7:30 instead of 8:00.
School Board
The Board of Education of Hun¬ tley Consolidated School met Wed¬ nesday, October 9, 1963 for its regular monthly meetinb with all members present except Mrs. Kun¬ de.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Revolving fund transfers were made.
The Audit Report was checked. The Board was gratified to find that the cost per student was — $466.20 for the current year as compared with $512.99 at the cost in the preceding fiscal year. The need for increasing facilities and additional building at our school was discussed and a spedid meet¬ ing will be held this month for further planning.
TTie Board approved the request of the Northern IllijAa4Jniversity at DeKalb to includ^. i" school in a teaching survey, to be titled "Be- be titledhavor of (Children". No definite dicicion was made regarding the purchase of a new freezer for the storage of food for the cafeteria. With increased en¬ rollment, . more space is needed, since we are also geeting more surplus food from government.
Another Blue Bird Bus body was purchased by the Board to replace an older worn-out bus which has been constantly breaking down lately.
The Board approved the F.F.A. sponsoring another Slave Sale, the date to be set later.

Credion U Day
Inlernat'onal Credit Union Day will be celebrated at the local chredit union on this Saturday. Erlo the Clown, a professional en¬ tertainer from Chicago, who has appeared on WGNTV will put on shows for children of all ages at 1C:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and again at 4:15 p.m. Between shows Erlo will distribute candy and over 200 toys lo the children.
