Huntley Ties 1 Drops 1
The Huntley Red.skin football team has played two football games since our la-st reporting. The first one was on Friday, Sept. 21, where the football team tie"Q Hebron 6 to 6. Huntley's only touchdown was in the first few seconds of the first quarted with a 1.5 yard run around the left end by Lavern Jordi. Huntley failed to make the extra point. Herbon came back in the second quarter to tie the game up. No further touuchdowns were made by cither team although with 16 seconds to go in the final quarter, Huntley almost came ahead. However, Terry Henning dropped a pass in the end zone and the clock ran out. Even though Henning did prop the pass, he did play a very outstanding defensive game mak¬ ing 14 tackles. Doug Swanson also played a very good defensive gam with 11 tackles. At the end of the first half with .seconds remaining to play. Dave Johnson ran 2.5 yards. However, at fhat time the team was far back toward their own goal line. andDave was only able to run the VPMP to the .50 yard line. Coach ^Wry says that the Ixjys did play a very good defensive game.
The second game was played on Friday, September 28. This game turned out with |jP^tley on the Short end of a .'U t^^score. Hunt¬ ley's only touchdown was scored by Lavern Jordi in the third quar¬ ter on an 8 yard run across Igfl tackle. Doug Swanson was higr tackier in this game with seven tackles.

Radio Station To Serve Huntley
Dave Olden of Grove Street, Huntley, Illinois, announced today that he will be starting a radio program next Friday, October 5, on WRMN and WRMNFM, the Elgin radio station. The show will last from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and can be reached by dialing 1410 on the AM dial and 994.3 on the FM dial. Dave has not picked out a name for this show as of yet.
The program will bring the peo¬ ple of Huntley news, interviews, music, and retjuests. Dave is going to try to interview businessmen, merchants, organizations, and the general public from Huuntley on the show. He also plans to have a few live broadcasts from the area when the events warrant this type of program.
The reason he gave for starting this program was to bring a broader prospective to Huntley, to entertain, amu.sc, and to shine a light on the news of Huntley. He also said that another aim of his in starting this program was lo try to keep merchants in Huntley patronized by Huntloy people and, per-haps, bring more people into town. He is very Interested ir^ comments from people ain) Iwpu to use their birthdays, anniver¬ saries, and weddings on the show.
The Huntley Farmside is co¬ operating with Dave by permitting him to use the news from the pa¬ per with the exception of that news which was paid for by the Farmside.

On Thursday October 25, the 4 th. annual Baseball Dinner will be held at the Huntley Fire Station. .\s of yet the guest speaker has not been picked. Ed. Mauhaur will again act as M.C. Tickets will shortly be on sale at Heines Tap, The American Legion and Bowl— Hi Lanes. The dinner will start at 7:30 P.M.
Dead Trees In Cemetary
Pictured above are 70 dead Elm trees at the Huntley cemetery. According to the new Village Or¬ dinance these trees must come down. However the Cemetery As¬ sociation is at the present time without funds.
According to Mr. Ernest Fitzi of the Cemetery Association, man people have not paid ttieir $5 an¬
nual bill for the lots so that the Association can cut down these trees. This money has to come soon in order to get these trees taken down..
For those of you who have not as of yet paid your bill, the wmi- mittee urges that you do at once so that this blight csm be taken off the face of the community.
Halloiveen Dance at Le^.
On October 27, 8:00 p.m. the Huntley American Legion Post 673 will hold their annual Halloween costume dance. As in years past, those who come dressed in Hallow- ween costumes will have an op¬ portunity to win a prize for the best costume, most original cos¬ tume, etc. Three prizes will be presented. This dance is open to the public and tickets will be abailable at the door.

Last week there was a pictuure in the paper of Mr. no'imis re¬ ceiving a check from the Huntley Lions Club. In the caption we mention that Mr. Thurow was pre senting the check to Mr. Loanis. This was not true. We do not know how this mistake happened. The way the caption should have read is that ^tt, Paul Ortleb was presenting fl^/Loanis with the check. We are extremely sorry.,

The first meeting of the 1962-63 \ear of the American Legion Jr. /Auxiliary wj^J^e held Monday October 8, ,W^>5:30 p.m. at the Legion Home. The girls are asked to bring their dues of $.81 plus $.05 for a door prize.
Lions M^eetin^
The second monthly meeting of the Huntley Lions Club was held at the Huntley American Legion Home on September 25. 1962: an enjoyable ham dinner was served hy the American Legion Auxiliary Ladies. Eighteen Lion members were present.
Discussion was held concerning the construction of a float for the Huntley Schools Homecoming Parade of October 5, 1962.
It was moved by Lion Lamb, .second by Lion Cole, carried, to sponsor a Halloween Party on Oc¬ tober 31, 1962, at the .school for the grade school and pre-school children. The Lions on the com¬ mittee are: Burmeister, chairman, Schultz, Kelly, and Plunkett.
A discussion was entered by Lion Meyer concerning an idea concerning the selection of the "Lion of the month'. It was sug¬ gested that a Lion be selected each month, his picture taken, and ¦^n article written about him. and entered to the local paper. Fui-- ther consideration will be given to the matter, for it met with ap¬ proval of the Lions.

The trap shoot will start at 11:00 and last until 4:00. A practice was held on some numt)ers beeing considered fbr the coming P.T.A. Variety Show of October 20, 1962. The Huntley Lions are planning to enter their chorus group with the accomjiani- ment being played by Liness Per¬ ley.

The agenda planned for week end festivities promise to be a full program, and all Huntley Dis¬ trict residents are invited to par¬ ticipate in scheduled activities. Special invitation postcards have been mailed to all recent Huntley grads for the past five years in^ viting them back to their old alma
