High School
Winter Concert Saturday

The High School Senior Band and Senior Chorus vvill present their Annual High School Winter Concert on December 9, 1961, Sat¬ urday evening, at 8:15 P.M. at the Huntloy Consolidated Schools Gym, Huntley. Illinois. Tickets will be on sale at the door only.
Some special features of the pro¬ gram for the evening will be: "Ragtime Wedding", by Paul Vod¬ er, in which Lee Linnenkohl as minister, Wayne Workowski as tho groom, Dennis Rudsinski as the father, Anne Frohling as the bride, and Barbara Britton as reader, will present the story with a musi¬ cal setting; "Timpani Tom", by H M Stuart, is a tympani solo play¬ ed b\ Bob Kahl, with instrumen¬ tal accompaniment.
The chorus will also present some special features: Tho Mozart "Gloria In Excelsis" will be accom¬ panied by the use of an organ, Mrs. R ¦Perley will play the ac¬ companimental part; "When The Seiints Go Marching In", by W. Douglas will have the accompani¬ ment of a percussion instrument as played by Bob Kahl; one popular, beautiful Christmas song will be presented unison by tho choral group. Accompanists for the chor¬ us are Bonnie Borhart, Joan Ungs. and Marjorie Jensen. Two more boys havo joined the chorus increa.s- ing tho membership to 27; theso two \oung mon are Donald Olson and I.aVorne Jordi.
The Huntley Farmside eamc out late this week. This was caus¬ ed b>- a paper delivery being late and a brakedown of maohiner.v at the photo plant.

Servicemen Addresses
As last year, the HUNTLEY FARMSIDE will again print ad¬ dresses of servicemen in a special column of tho remaining papers before Christmas. This is a service rendered free of charge so that friends of the servicemen might have tho opportunity to write thom greeting cards.

Huntley Eions Meeting

November 28, 1961, the Huntley IJons had their second monthly meeting at the American Legion Home; the Lions enjoyed a meat loaf dinner as served by tho American Legion Auxiliary. Fif¬ teen Lion members were present; the guests were Lion Howard of Dundee, the Zone Chairman Lion Hansen, the District Governor Lion Marvin, Bob Hartman and Lvle Koppen of Huntley, and Dick Doane of Dundee of the Dundee Chevrolet Sales.
Lion Thurow presented the min¬ utes of the, previous meeting and the treasurer's report, both were accepted. December 5, 1961 is the evening for the Lions and Liones¬ ses to have Ladies Night at tho Virginian; dinner will be at 8:00 P.M.; each Lion and Lioness is to bring a dollar gift- The Children's Christmas Party, given in cooper¬ ation with tho Children's Christ¬ mas Program, of December 20. 1%1, was briefly discussed
The District Governor Lion Mar vin spoke to the organization con¬ cerning LIONISM. Lion Marvin presented various visual illustra¬ tions denoting various things ho was talking about. An interesting display was that of tho flags hold¬ er in which flags from all countries with LIONISM were present Two major goals of Lions are: 1 -'¦- TO SERVE, and 2 — TO GROW. It was brought to light by Lion Man • in that in May of 1962, the fif¬ teenth anniversary of LIONISM in Huntley will bo celebrated.
Zone Chairman Lion Hansen presented Gavels to the past two presidents of the Lion Club, as well as to the present president of the Lions Club. Cbristn&as Dinner Party
70 people atended the annual American Legion Auxiliary Christ¬ mas dinner last Monday night, De- comh)er 4. Many people attending were members of tho Junior Ameri¬ can Legion Auxiliar.w After a de¬ licious pot luck dinner, the Junior Auxiliary sang Christmas carols. The Senior Auxiliary participated in tho singing toward tho ond of the program.
Each of the members brought a gift for some other member of her group.
Following the gilt exchange a business mooting was held.
Boy Scouts Fund Drive
Wayne Miller, chairman of the Boy Scouts Drive, informed this paper that the fund drive is now in process.
Any individual, who would like to make a donation to the Boy Scouts, please contact Mr. Miller at the State Bank of Huntley.
The Scouts drive for tho Village ot Hunlley is again six hundred dollars ($600 00). The goal has
nearly been reached two different years.
All are urged to be civic mind¬ ed and back the Scouting pro¬ gram.
