No Main Street Parking Friday
On October 2, 1992 there will be NO PARKING on Main St. and on Coral St. between Church St. and Woodstock St. from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This parking ban is to accommodate the parade route
for the Huntley High School Homecoming Parade.
Hearings Continue
The proposed balefill site hearings are still being held every weekday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lake- in-the-Hills Airport on Pyott Road. Lake-in-the-Hills is holding the hearings to determine whether or not to site the balefill on Rt. 47, two miles north of Huntley.
New 4-H Club To Form In Huntley
A new 4-H Club will be forming in Huntley. The first meeting will be held at the Huntley High School cafeteria, on Wednesday, October 7th. at 7:00pm. Kids and parents are invited to come join the fun and find out what 4-H is all about. Enrollment is open to ages 8 to 18. There will be many different projects available. If you don't find just the right one for you, create your own project by enrolling in "Do Your Own Thing." Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Huntley Lions Gear Up For Candy Day
If you can read this news¬ print, you are lucky - 1.5 million Americans cannot read newsprint, even with glasses. Over 700,000 Americans are legally blind and 30,000 go blind annually.
Because the gifts of sight and learning are so precious and so irreplaceable, the 30,000 members of the more than 700 Lions Clubs in Illinois hold Candy Day each year to raise
funds to support a variety of services for the Blind and Deaf for the State of Illinois.
This year the Huntley Lions Club, will participate in Candy Day on Friday, Oct. 9, 1992, under the leardership of Gary Schultz, Club President and Darryl Gurnett, Candy Day Chairman. Please help by supporting the Huntley Lions Club this year.

One girl and one boy from this happy group of Huntley High Seniors will be crowned Homecoming Queen and Kin; at the Homecoming football game this Friday at Lindsey Field. Huntley Rre Department Celebrates Rre Prevention week With Open House
The Huntley Fire Department will celebrate Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 4-11, with an Open House at Station 1 on Sunday, October 11.
The event which runs from l-4pm, will include the "Get Out Alive Safely" Trailer, smoke alarm and fire extinguisher door prizes, demonstrations, handouts and refreshments.
The "Get Out Alive Safely" Trailer comes from the Wonder Lake Fire Department who built it. The trailer simulates a 2 story single family home. Participants will go into the rooms, upstairs and down. Then, non-toxic smoke will begin to fill the trailer and set off the
smoke alarms. Firefighters will show participants how to evacuate a smoke-filled home safely. The trailer will also be demonstrated at the Huntley Grade School on Oct. 9th.
In addition, there will be demonstrations on extinguishing kitchen fires with ABC extinguishers and proper residential address display in Huntley for 911 emergency service.
All the HFPD fire and ambulance equipment will be on display and fire prevention materials for children, as well as adults, will be on hand. HFPD personnel will also give free blood pressure checks.
Huntley Library hosted the first Chamber mixer on Monday, Sept. 28th at 5:00 p.m. Twenty five members were in attendance. Light hors d'oeurves and refreshments were served.
