Huntley Schools Plan Open House
Huntley Fills "The Boot" For MDA
Huntley firefighters (from left) John Winkleman, Russ Wilson and Keith Mallegni present Muscular Dystrophy Association program coordinator Annie Friemuth with a check for $760.70 from their recent "Fill The Boot" fundraising event sponsored by the HFPD and Huntley Firefighters Association (HFA). These firefighters along with HFPD Chief Dave Veath, Eric Bentley, Al Wiesneth, Kevin Ellison and Marge Strohfus spent a couple afternoons collecting money in firefighters' boots at Huntley Supermarket, State Bank of Huntley, and Unocal 76. In addition, donation cans were placed in many Huntley area businesses. HFPD and HFA express many thanks to all those who donated and the local businesses who participated. This is the second year for this event in Huntley and the firefighters are proud to say they collected over $100 more than last year for Jerry's Kids.
Seniors Help Celebrate 102nd Birthday —
Huntley seniors traveled to Valley Hi Nursing Home on Wednesday, Sept. 8, to help Minnie Harting celebrate her 102nd brithday. Birthday cake and coffee was enjoyed by (left to right, standing) Millie Harting (Minnie's daughter-in-law), Marie Fettes, Al Jordi,
Huntley School District #158 is planning its annual Open House on two separate evenings, one for high school and one for grade school.
The High School Open House will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, beginning at 7pm in the high school multi-purpose room. Plans include introduction of staff and personnel, a tour of
the building, meetings with the staff and faculty, and discussing the curriculum.
The Grade School Open House will be Thursday, Sept. 23, beginning at 7pm, in the gym. Parents and guests can learn about the school, view facilities, meet the faculty and staff and become informed on classroom materials.
Tracy Frihart Ready To Receive Calls >
Tracy Frihart has returned to the area from Colorado, where he was hospitalized with severe injuries suffered in a fall. He is now at the Rehab Institute Center of Chicago.
His parents would like to

School Spaghetti Dinner To Benefit Tracy Frihart, FFA, Snowball, Band, Choir
On Sept. 20 a community fundraising effort will be held at Huntley High School. The event will benefit three high school organizations and the trust fund which has been established for Tracy Frihart.
Tracy, son of Sue and Terry Frihart, is a senior at Huntley. He suffered a spinal cord injury, a severe concussion and several broken bones as the result of a fall while vacationing in Colorado with friends. The family has incurred many expenses (which will continue) for air ambulance services, several operations and extensive therapy.
A spaghetti dinner will begin at Spm in the high school cafeteria. The dinner is being sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Huntley, the Class of 1994, and the Friends of Tracy (the group which is coordinating the fundraising activities for Tracy). All proceeds will be
donated to the Tracy Frihart Trust Fund at the State Bank of Huntley.
An auction which was in the planning stages last spring has been expanded to include Tracy. The auction will begin at 7pm in the high school gymnasium. Buyers may purchase students to do eight hours of work (yard work, farm labor, house cleaning, babysitting, typing, etc.) or donated items such as electronic equipment, complimentary dinners, craft goods, home-baked pies or cakes and other contributions from local merchants.
Of the profits from the auction, 40% will be donated to Tracy's Trust Fund and 20% each will go to support the FFA, Operation Snowball, and
the Band and Choir projects

Huntley Village Grants New Liquor License, Conducts Business
The August 26, 1993 regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held in the board room of the Village Hall and called to order by President Dhamer at 7;llpm.
Roll noted the following present: President Dhamer, Trustees Becker, Borowicz, Eckel, Shamhart, Sheehan and Todd. Also attending were Administrator Nelis, Police Chief Rossi, Public Works Director Schwartz, Building Inspector Ehrke, Village Attorney Kukla and representing the Village Engineer, Mr. Bill Blecke.
At that time, Mayor Dhamer asked that the minutes from the Aug. 12, 1993 Board meeting be reviewed and approved. Trustee Borowicz outlined changes to the following sections: Treasury Report, Engineer's Report, Public Works Report. At that time, Trustee Shamhart made a motion to approve the minutes as amended; seconded by Trustee Eckel. A voice vote noted all ayes and motion carried.
Liquor Commission:
Next on the agenda was the granting of a liquor license to Luigi's Pizza (Louis Abdullai). As he had already come before the Liquor Commission and they approved adding one more license, and Mr. Abdullai having presented the necessary papers, Trustee Becker made the motion which recommended the Liquor Commission grant a liquor license to Luigi's Pizza. It was seconded by Trustee Todd. The roll call of the Liquor Commission noted the following: Mayor Dhamer, Trustees Becker and Todd, aye; Trustee Sheehan, nay. The motion carried.
The other item was the application for a temporary (one day) liquor license to the Huntley Firefighters Assoc, to hold their annual
