Deceaaad waa an tntensely loyal employee of the Journal-Record force, a faithful Odd Fellow and a deacon in the Flora Christian church, and will be greatly missed by his multitude of friends of long stand¬ ing.

THE WOMAN'S CLUB
Flora Woman's Club met at the home of Mrs. G. O, Lewis on Tuea¬ day. Feb. 14th, with 28 members present and several visitors. Opened hy singing "Nearer My Ood To Thee" with Mrs. Douglas Naney at the piano. Devotional exercises were leil by Mrs. Claude McDaniel who read the 116th Psalm and led in prayer. After the regular order of business lira. K. 8. Pritchett read a paper on "Bills That Women Should See Be¬ come Laws", which was followed by an open discussion on "Voting".

Visitors at the club were Hrs. B. T. Olardon, Mra. T. W. Culbertson, Of Louiaviiie, and Mrs. J. A. Sabin, at Sullivan, who gave short talks on their home club work.

Hostesses were Mesdames Jesse Harrison, Barl Arbuthnot, Henry Jrrln and Thoa. H. Sabln, who served peactaea with whipped cream wafera and hot coffee.

CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY
ANNIVERSARY
Mrs. P. A. Meyer entertained Mrs. Joseph Sabin, of Sullivan, and daughter, Lora her father, W. M. Campbell, Mrs. A. H. Meyer, and Col. Randolph Smith at her home on Second and Sycamore streets. Tuns- day In honor of Mr. Meyer's forty- seventh birthday.
It was, fn a way, a pleasant sur¬ prise for Mr. Meyer. A splendid dinner was served in couraes, which with the social spirit that prevailed, made It a most enjoyable occasion tor those presSftt.
It was remarked that Mr. Meyer was hearing up well under his weight of years. He waa congratulated and good wishes expressed that many more happy anniversaries would come to him.
YOUTHS CONFESS THEIR GUILT
Night watchman Robt. Kitley ar¬ rested four boys," 12 to 14 years of age on Friday night with a sack full of chickens. They- were arraigned before Justice Sol. T. Finch on Sat¬ urday, when they confessed their gntlt to thia and other stealings, and were held In bonds of |50 each for their appearance at the March terra of the Circuit Court:
These youthful depredations are becoming entirely too frequent and the authorities as well as the public are becoming so Incensed that there is a disposition to punish until it hurts.
An amusing circumstance of this latest robbery Is that when Mr. Kit- ley made an investlgatiotn he found the chickens had been stolen from hia own hen rooat.

POUR DEATHS OCCm IN FAMILV WITHIN THREE WEEKS
Ralph, the twelve year old son of 'Arthur Monical, succumbed to death "I^irsday, after an illness of four weeks. This stricken family have the sympathy of the entire commun¬ ity. "The mother and three children have been called by death within the last three weeks.
Funeral services were held from Hancock's undertaking parlor Wed- reortay afternoon conducted by Rev. Pierson ot the United Brethren Church. Burial at. Elmwood ceme¬ tery.
ELMER SHIPLEY DEAD
Elmer Shipley, a resident of Flora, tor many yeara. was called Into eternity Wednesday afternoon Feb. 15 at 2:So o'clock. Ho had been making his home wfth his son Clyde, on South Mill street.
Mr. Shipley had been afflicted for sometime, having had a stroke of paralysis over a year ago. He waa about B
