Platteville To Welcome Main Street Staff
The world’s largest “M” will welcome Main Street staff and volunteers from the
Tri-State region to Platteville, Wisconsin this week. No, the M is not for Main
Street this time, it’s for the miners that originally settled the region. The M is
composed of rocks set on a hill and can be seen from all parts of Platteville. It
is white-washed annually.
Registration for the Tri-State Exchange is currently 165 combined from Illinois,
Iowa and Wisconsin. This year’s change in format may have something to
do with that. The Exchange will kick off with a dessert reception and golf
earlier in the afternoon of September 25th. Well known and respected
speakers will give concurrent sessions and include case-studies from across
the region on Wednesday the 26th. Britta McKenna from Batavia, Judy Tighe
from Jacksonville, Mim Evans from Genoa and the owners of ShoeTopia in
Springfield will represent Illinois. Thursday morning is packed with information
from the National Trust about new loan funds, a pep talk from a noted
Wisconsin Director, and State Meetings.
Tri-State is always a conference with lots of ideas and lots of networking but
not so large or so long as to be overwhelming. We’re looking forward to
seeing a large contingent from Illinois and catching up on all of your summer
activities.
