Property Tax Appeal Board

1. ROLL CALL: Sharon Thompson; Michael Goral; Walter Gorski
STAFF: Ron Messina, Executive Director
Steve Waggoner, Paula Wagoner
Sharon Thompson, Board Member, convened the meeting at
10:10 a.m.
2. Approval of Board Minutes for the February Meeting:
Mr. Gorski moved to approve the minutes of the February
20, 2007 Board Meeting. Mr. Goral seconded the motion. The
motion carried unanimously.
3. Executive Director Report:
Ron Messina
Ethics Training for board members was discussed.
Testing of the appeal search engine began on March 1, 2007,
using 5 law firms; of which 3 are interveners' and 2 are
appellants' attorneys. Steve Rulison has scheduled a second
set of testing which will begin on June 1, 2007. There will
be 4 law firms involved, 1 intervener and 3 appellant. Most
of them will be down state, Chicago, Joliet, Rockford and
Northbrook. There has already been a positive response from
the first meeting. Staff will be looking at them and making
recommendations and hopefully, at the April meeting, we can
bring them to you for further input. After the meeting, it
will go out for a second time for further input. We are on
target for a July 1 public introduction of the search
engine.
