Property Tax Appeal Board Meeting
Held on October 21, 2008
Des Plaines, Illinois
1. ROLL CALL: Carlos Montoya, Chairman; Sharon Thompson;
Michael Goral; Kevin Freeman; Walter Gorski
STAFF: Louis Apostol, Eileen Castrovillari, Steve
Waggoner, Mauro Glorioso, Thomas McGovern,
Katherine Patti, Laurie See
Chairman Montoya convened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
2. Approval of the Board Minutes for the September Meeting:
Mr. Gorski moved to approve the minutes of the September
30, 2008 meeting. Ms. Thompson seconded the motion and it
carried unanimously.
3. Executive Director Report:
Louis was in Springfield from October 14-16. Staff is
doing well, given limited staff and resources. Pam Monical
has divided up Paula Wagoner's duties until the recruitment
of her replacement.
The Preliminary Audit Findings addressed several issues,
the important ones being:
º Timeliness of Hearings
º Timely review of performance evaluations & monitoring
º Segregation of IT duties
º Computer disaster recovery plan
